Classic longboard surfing, apart from other forms of surfing, puts its emphasis on style and grace.
While shortboard surfing tends to focus on high-performance maneuvers, longboarding is more about fluidity and elegance.
Surfing with a classic longboard is a beautiful and rewarding experience that makes you feel the beauty and power of the ocean in such a unique way.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced surfer, a longboard can help you to enhance your skills, express your style, and fully immerse yourself in the joy of surfing.
In the last years Antonio has been practicing classic longboarding trained by his coach Rubén Fuente, co-founder of Longboard with Amigos, a surf academy specialised in longboard training. Antonio is now an official trainer of Longboard with Amigos and offer private longboard coaching at Surf Life Tenerife, in Playa de Las Américas.
The Type A lesson is the right choice when you already have a good basis and you want to practise in the water specific phases of the longboard didactic progression.
The type B lesson perfectly suits first timers as well as intermediate surfers. If you’re starting longboarding, spending some time out of the water to understand the different parts which compose a longboard and the theory about the paddling and wave selection will allow you to get faster progress once you’re hitting the ocean. As an intermediate surfer who is progressing towards the first cross steps and noseriding, balancing exercises out of the water are the key to develop the muscle memory you’ll need to execute the maneuver while riding on the wave.
The Type C lesson is a must in order to analyze and correct every mistake you’re making and set up a specific plan for each one of them. It is suitable for intermediate surfers and for beginners who already have a bit of experience.
When I was looking for intermediate longboard surfing lessons, I found Antonio to be the best longboard coach I have ever had.
With a lot of patience and the right combination of theory, exercises on land, as well as observations and direct feedback in the water, I was able to make rapid progress and learned many important lessons for future surf sessions.
I really liked the holistic and individual approach.
I really hope that I will have the opportunity to surf and learn from Antonio again in the future!
During our holiday we wanted to take some longboard lessons and we were also looking for someone to give our boys some surf lessons.
After some research I came across Surf Life Tenerife and booked the premium surf coaching for us.
The 3 boys had 2 private surf lessons with Bea and they absolutely loved her.
She is great with kids.
We did the longboard coaching with Antonio @mistersurflife 😉
Even though we prefer to be on the water, the video analysis and theory are a must do to improve your surfing.
We’ve learned a lot and definitely made progression.
We’ve enjoyed every minute we spend with Antonio. Excellent coaching!
